Bio

Dr. Michael Aronow grew up in Long Beach, California. He graduated from Harvard College in 1984 and the Harvard Medical School – Massachusetts Institute of Technology Health Sciences & Technology Program in 1989. He did a general surgery internship, orthopedic residency, research fellowship, and sports medicine fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, followed by a year of advanced clinical experience in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center.

Dr. Aronow joined Orthopedic Associates of Hartford in 2012. He was previously on the full-time faculty of the UConn School of Medicine for over fifteen years where he was an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, a recipient of the Richard A. Garibaldi, M.D. Doctor’s Day Award, and a recipient of the Harry R. Gossling, M.D. Orthopedic Residency Educator of the Year award. He continues to have an association with the UConn School of Medicine as a Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Aronow is the current President of the Connecticut Orthopaedic Society, secretary and member of the Board of Directors of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, and a delegate to the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Board of Specialty Societies. He has co-authored over 40 journal articles and over 15 book chapters, and has presented his research and given scientific and clinical talks at multiple regional, national, and international meetings.

Dr. Aronow’s subspecialty clinical and research interests involve almost all aspects of foot and ankle care including arthritis and other joint conditions, bunions, lesser toe deformities including hammertoes, other symptomatic foot deformities including flatfeet and high arched cavus feet, fractures and other traumatic injuries, sports injuries, and tendon disorders.
