Congrats to Scholarship Winners

The Capital Area Health Consortium, an alliance of central Connecticut hospitals that employ medical residents and fellows in UConn-sponsored programs, honored four Hartford HealthCare colleagues with its T. Stewart Hamilton Scholarship.

The scholarships are awarded twice a year to applicants furthering their careers in healthcare management, medicine or nursing. Hamilton was the consortium’s first president and served as director of Hartford Hospital from 1954 to 1976.

Each award winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship to support tuition costs:

  • Gabrielle Campanelli, RN, Hartford Hospital STAR team in the ICU and Stepdown units, who is pursuing a doctorate in nursing from Vanderbilt University.
  • Elizabeth Reeve, RN, clinical nurse leader on the Hartford Hospital STAR Team across various ICU units while working toward a master’s in nursing degree at the University of Hartford.
  • Wendy Napolitano, RN, The Hospital of Central Connecticut director of nursing critical care, who is pursuing a doctorate in nursing from the University of Hartford. She also serves as regional director of wound care and dialysis liaison.
  • Brandon Canty, BA, clinical research coordinator/associate at HHC, currently pursuing a master’s in public health degree from Temple University. He manages IND and IDE clinical trials in neurosurgery and movement disorders across HHC sites.
