Our Team

The staff on the neuro-critical care unit at Hartford Hospital is required to undergo extended neurosciences training. Patients may be seen by our team of physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists for specific rehabilitation needs. Hartford Hospital has a team of physiatrists on staff providing consultation for patients having suffered a stroke or traumatic brain injury. The case coordinators, who are registered nurses with neuroscience training, will work with patients, families and insurance companies to ensure a safe discharge whether it be to a rehab center or home.

The neuro-critical care team provides the highest quality of care to patients and support to families. We understand that having neuro-critical care needs can be a scary and stressful time for both patients and their families. All units have a team of social workers and nurse clinical care coordinators to care for patients and assist families. We will work with families to come up with the best plan of care to ensure that you are well informed and prepared for life after discharge.
