MidState Medical Center is a 156-bed acute care hospital located in Meriden, Connecticut, with satellite offices in Cheshire, Wallingford and Southington. MidState provides a broad spectrum of services that meets the needs of the community it serves.

MidState has been in its current location since 1998, but its history dates back to the 1800s. Several additions and renovations make it the state-of-the-art facility of today which includes services for cancer care, diabetes and nutrition, digestive health, emergency/urgent care, family birthing, cardiac care, sleep disorders, general and minimally invasive surgery, spine and pain care, stroke care, wound management and more. Additional services, such as physician offices, lab and radiology are available in the Medical Office Building located on the campus.

Future Workforce: To proactively help combat healthcare staffing shortages, a pipeline was created for nursing students at Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart universities to fill positions in our hospitals. MidState also partners with ReadyCT on career pathways for students. The hospital provides Meriden and New Britain high schoolers internships to build the next generation of healthcare workers and provide career opportunities.

Award for Community Care: The Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, as part of its 20th Annual Regional Health Care & Life Sciences Clinical Program Award, named the Connecticut Orthopaedic Institute at MidState recipient of the “Clinical Program” award for coordinating a program that made a significant contribution during a specific healthcare crisis.
