Accreditation

In healthcare, independent organizations and agencies review facilities and programs like ours to determine if the work meets set standards for quality and safety. Accreditation promotes uniform standard benchmarks and continuous quality improvement.

MBSAQIP-Accredited centers demonstrate an uncompromising pursuit of quality that has earned the confidence, respect and trust of patients making a commitment to healthier living. At the Digestive Health Institute Medical & Surgical Weight Loss Program, we are committed to delivering the most advanced care centered on the individual needs of each patient. We are proud our work earns recognition in the form of accreditation.

Our surgical weight loss programs at Hartford Hospital, MidState Medical Center, Backus Hospital and St. Vincent’s Medical Center are designated Comprehensive Centers accredited by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Program.

This is a joint effort of the American College of Surgeons and American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the world’s largest organization of bariatric surgeons. Accreditation is awarded after a rigorous evaluation process that documents excellence in safe surgical care and quality outcomes, with a focus on long-term results.
