Here’s why testing matters.
Different tests answer different questions, and we’ll order only what you need. You may need testing to:
- Find the cause of symptoms like belly pain, nausea, jaundice or abnormal blood tests.
- Check for gallstones, pancreatitis, fatty liver, cysts or tumors.
- Plan treatment or track how a condition changes over time.
We use imaging, endoscopy, functional scans, and lab work to get a complete picture:
- Imaging studies include abdominal ultrasound, CT, and MRI/MRCP to check for gallstones, fatty liver, blockages, inflammation, cysts or tumors.
- Endoscopic procedures such as EUS and ERCP allow detailed imaging, biopsy, stone removal, and stent placement during the same procedure when appropriate.
- Functional and nuclear medicine tests like HIDA show how your gallbladder and bile ducts are working.
- Liver stiffness testing measures scarring from conditions like fatty liver disease.
- Blood tests check liver enzymes, bilirubin, clotting and other markers.
