Offering support through the pause in SNAP benefits

November 04, 2025

As you may be aware, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits have been paused for many individuals across our communities. This change may leave some of our patients — and some of our colleagues — facing food insecurity and uncertainty.

At Hartford HealthCare, our People Promise reminds us that we are here for one another and for those we serve. Connecting people to services when they need them most is not just part of our mission — it’s who we are.

Please share these resources with your teams and encourage them to be aware of the impact this change may have. For colleagues seeking support or guidance on how to connect to internal and external resources — or to apply for the Colleague Emergency Assistance Fund (CEAF) — our Well-Being Department is here to help at 860.972.2400 or by emailing WellBeing@hhchealth.org.

For those looking to volunteer or support community efforts, please visit HHC Connect to find an organization in your area that might be seeking help during this difficult time. Colleagues also can donate directly to the Colleague Emergency Assistance Fund via a payroll deduction.

Thank you for leading with empathy and for continuing to live our values in every interaction.
