Education & Training

We are committed to not only providing the most advanced, compassionate care for our patients, but also training future leaders in the field of obesity medicine. Our 12-month fellowship is a comprehensive education for those physicians wishing to work in a variety of clinical settings.

Fellowship

The objective of our obesity medicine fellowship is to train providers using the preceptorship model in a multimodal weight management clinic, alongside obesity medicine specialists, bariatric surgeons, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered dietitians and behavioral
health psychologists.

Throughout fellowship, fellows are expected to attend and present at conferences and lectures, and present research to the clinical team. Fellows participate in at least one obesity-related research project overseen by a faculty research mentor.

Prerequisite training and selection criteria

Successful applicants have completed an ACGME residency program, preferably in family, internal or preventative medicine.

Selection is based on the applicant’s curriculum vitae, letters of recommendation and a personal statement outlining interest in the field and plans to contribute to its advancement.
